Did Ralof and Hadvar grow up together?
And some of it has to be true – they probably DID grow up together, in a very small town. They’re the most interesting NPCs in Skyrim to me. Ever think about the tragedy of Hadvar and Ralof?
What happens to Ralof if you go with Hadvar?
If you chose Ralof to follow, Hadvar is then unavailble to be seen in the rest of the game, since even if you enter both sides of the Keep, only Ralof’s route has one different room. Unless you use cheats to spawn them in, the opposing character you didn’t follow, will not be in game for the rest of Skyrim.
Why did Hadvar call Ralof a traitor?
hadvar calls ralof a traitor for being a stormcloak obviously. although im sure there is more to it than that. remember that pretty much all the important stormcloaks were imperial soldiers at one point.
Why does Hadvar say we should split up?
Splitting up is a suggestion on his part, which could make it easier for the both of you to avoid potential enemies.
Can you marry Ralof?
Ralof is marriable and can be a follower. Make love, not war! Be on the side of the Sons of Skyrim and win the Civil War.

Does Ralof survive helgen?
They both head towards the Helgen keep but if you go with Ralof, you never see Hadvar again but if you go with Hadvar you never see Ralof again. Both paths cross at the very entrance of the Helgen keep but yet you never see the other person.
Does Hadvar survive helgen?
Hadvar, being safe in Imperial Riverwood, is there in the Sleeping Giant Inn. (Actually, he’d show up there even if you followed Ralof out of Helgen but sided Imperial instead.) If you had joined the Stormcloaks, Hadvar is dead, in hiding, or a prisoner of war.

Should I leave with Hadvar or Ralof?
If you plan to wear Heavy Armor and use One-handed Weapons, Ralof’s a good choice – but if you plan to start levelling Smithing and/or use a Two-Handed Weapon, Hadvar may be preferable. You’ll likely pick up a level or two in your chosen skill(s) before you get out of that cave under Helgen.
Who survived helgen?
In the prologue, the only survivors are you, Elenwen, Tullius, Ralof / Hadvar and Haming.
